Cost of therapy:
My fee is $160 for a 50-minute session for individuals and $180 for couples. Many couples would prefer a 75 minute session and the fee for that is $270.
I maintain my commitment to serving you to the best of my ability, even as my fee has increased. If you have a pre-existing
therapeutic relationship with me, please feel free to contact me to discuss what arrangements might be made given your
present circumstances. Whenever possible, I will try to make something work.
I require a minimum of 24 hours notice if you need to cancel for any reason. My full fee will be charged if you miss an
appointment without the required 24-hour notice.
Payments are made to me at the beginning of each session . Accepted payment methods are cash, checks or major credit
cards (M/C, Visa, Apple Pay and American Express).
Therapy can be a costly investment in one's mental health and I know how this unexpected and unplanned cost can prevent
people from seeking the help that they need. However, insurance coverage comes at a high price.
One loses all rights to confidentiality once an insurance company begins to pay for therapy. And if the insurance is provided
from an employer, that employer also has the right to information about our work together.
All of this information may go into your permanent medical record. It is my belief that our work will be most successful
without the potential infringement on your confidentiality and for this reason, I do not accept insurance.
If you are comfortable with your employer knowing that you are seeking therapy, I can provide you with an invoice for
services that you have paid for, as some employers allow for reimbursement of medical costs or for them to be paid for with
pre-tax dollars. If you do decide to utilize your insurance for reimbursement with an out of network provider I can also
provide you with an invoice for services paid for.
